Whatever you ask (Day 3)

Reading: John 15:16 ESV

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

Yesterday we explored our potential to grow in unlimited love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, faithfulness, gentleness and goodness.

One beautiful truth that comes alongside ripened, sweet fruit is understanding it has successfully matured because we remained in Him. This is the only way we produce authentic fruit that is sustenance to a hungry soul. It is fruit that does not fade nor lose flavour.

When we get our Whatevers lined up with His Word and complete that with our obedience, we are positioned for powerful petition. The prayers of a man, woman or little child who is right with God are effective!

Petition is asking from Him; for yourself or for others. Like our verse today, if your fruit plot is alive with godly produce, you’ll likely be asking for the right things that instinctively compliment His will.

Can I encourage you today to explore in scripture just how many times God reiterates this promise! Again and again He says ‘Whatever’ we ask for in prayer, if we do our part, in faith, in obedience, in agreement, He will give it to us!

If we commit to growing healthily, we will pray in good health also!
